Hello, I am Mrs. Esnayra. I am from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Moved to El Paso when I was 15 years old. I graduated from UTEP in May 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Bilingual Education. I have always loved Math and working with students to help them throughout their education. I taught Math for 7th and 8th graders for 3 years in Santa Fe, NM. I am really fortunate and excited to keep my teaching career going and start teaching at El Paso Leadership Academy and teach our incoming 6th graders!

Hello! I’m Mr. Hood. I'm originally from a small town in Alaska, but grew up in an equally small town in the Texas outside of San Antonio. In terms of education, I received my bachelor’s from Baylor University in sociology (with a minor in film & digital media). I often describe myself as a perpetual student with a passion for learning. And in recent years, I have gained a desire to teach! I love opportunities to engage with students about their passions and encourage them to discover their own uniqueness! In my precious free time, I enjoy going on mini-adventures, watching films about Hobbits trying to destroy a ring, and playing some sort of sport to relax.

Hello, I am Ms. Alonso the 6th grade Science teacher. I was born and raised here in El Paso, Tx. I received my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies Generalist 4-8th grade from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2014. My passion for education started when I was child. As I got older, I met that one teacher that made a difference in my education. That is when  I knew I also wanted to help and encourage our future. This is my first year here in EPLA and I am beyond excited to see this community grow. I am happy to be a part of this great team.
