EPLA Represents El Paso at Texas Student Council Leadership Conference

SAN MARCOS, TX, November 2019: For the first time El Paso Leadership Academy scholars attended the annual Texas Association of Student Councils Middle-Level Conference in San Marcos, TX the weekend of November 15-16, 2019.  A delegation of twelve scholars and three staff advisors, including Mr. Casillas, Ms. Alonso, and Ms. Holguin, attended the two-day leadership seminar. EPLA was one of a handful of student councils representing the city of El Paso.

 

 

During the trip, the delegation took the opportunity to visit the Texas State Capitol in Austin, TX. Below are notes from the conference to provide an overview of activities during the event.

Middle-Level student council and NJHS leaders and advisors hear nationally known speakers, gain training from experts, and share ideas with peers.
